Burglary / Vehicle Theft - all areas

Burglary / Vehicle Theft

Creeper burglars burgle houses to locate car keys and to subsequently steal vehicles. Recent incidents indicate some of these individuals are using straightened coat hangers as a means to attempt to lift keys off hall tables.

CSN would remind householders not to leave their house/car keys within easy reach of their letterboxes - this may help reduce the number of victims of creeper burglaries.

A burglary attempt in Moira was made in the early hours (0430am) of yesterday morning in the Berwick Heights area using this very procedure. The criminals were disturbed by the householder and made off.

During daytime yesterday a property at Glenroe Maghaberry was burgled. Around 7pm the occupants discovered the property had been entered via the patio doors and 2 televisions and games consoles had been stolen.

A so far unidentified white van was noted in the area at the time. Did you see this vehicle? Did you note the registration, type or any details of the occupants that may assist in enquiries? If so please pass details to police at Lisburn.
