Scam - General - "Euro City Lotto"

Scam

Recently, a Lisburn resident received a letter from a company called “EUROU CITY LOTTO”, informing him that he had won a large prize in the Spanish Sweepstake. Included with the letter was a “Payment Processing Form”. This form contained a section for Bank details, including the bank name, account number, sort-code and address.

If you receive ANY such correspondence, PLEASE DO NOT complete these details. This is a “Scam”, and unfortunately members of the public are being defrauded. If you were to return your bank details to the Fax number provided, before you could change your mind, it’s highly likely that you bank account would be “cleaned out”!

If you have any concerns about “scam” lottery letters or emails, the details can be checked out on the Internet.

These unscrupulous criminals often specifically target elderly and vulnerable members of the public. Please make sure that friends, relatives and neighbours are warned about this activity.

Merry Christmas!
